Beatrice Michel (geb. 1944, Biel), Studium der Literaturwissenschaft, Romanistik und Anglistik, Promotion 1971. Von 1970-1988 Filmkritikerin und Kulturpublizistin u.a. beim Tages-Anzeiger sowie kontinuierlich freie Tätigkeit als Schriftstellerin und Filmemacherin. Als Autorin veröffentliche Beatrice Michel die beiden Bücher Mutterraben (1980) und Der Kelim (1995). Mitglied des Filmkollektivs Zürich. Ab 1985 enge Zusammenarbeit mit ihrem Lebenspartner, dem Regisseur Hans Stürm, Realisierung von mehreren Filmprojekten. Nach dem Tod von Hans Stürm alleinige Regie des gemeinsam begonnenen Films Klingenhof (2005).
