History
Ulrike Koch (geb. 1950 Birkenfeld/Nahe) studierte Sinologie, Japanologie und Völkerkunde an der Universität Zürich sowie chinesische Literatur und Philosophie an der Beijing Universität. Als Casting Director arbeitete sie bei „Der letzte Kaiser“ von Bernardo Bertolucci und „Urga“ von Nikita Mikhalkov. 1995 realisierte sie ihren ersten Dokumentarfilm zum Thema des Qigong in China. Bis 2011 folgten weitere ethnografische Dokumentarfilme, die geprägt sind durch ihren akademischen Hintergrund. Ulrike Koch lebt und arbeitet als freischaffende Filmemacherin in Zollikon bei Zürich.
